New to DJJS? Three ways to begin
Who this is for: Guests
Guests who are new to Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) and would like to know where to start. It helps you pick a first step, or ask a person to reply to you. You do not need an account.
Before you start
- Nothing to sign up for. You can read the whole page first.
- If you are already signed in as a member, the Start here page sends you to your Sangat Portal instead. This guide is for the page guests see.
Steps
- Open Start here from the site menu, or go to djjs.us/start.
- Under Which sounds like you?, find the line closest to where you are: I’m curious, I want to try or I want to visit.
- Choose its link: Meditation, in plain words, Try the free focus reset or Find a center near you.
- If you would rather speak with a person, choose Talk to someone at the top of the page. Fill in First name, Last name, and an Email or a Phone or WhatsApp number (one is enough). Then choose Where are you?, Preferred language and What would you like?
- Choose Talk to someone under the form to send it.
What each of the three ways does
- I’m curious opens a plain-words page about meditation, and a page that says what research on meditation shows and where it stops.
- I want to try opens the science page, where a free three-minute focus reset waits for you. It is a relaxation aid. It is not Brahm Gyan meditation.
- I want to visit opens the center finder. Everyone is welcome and there is nothing to sign up for at the door.
Brahm Gyan, the meditation DJJS shares, is not something to imagine or accept on trust. As the page explains, it is revealed at free initiation by a teacher on behalf of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, and each person checks it for themselves in their own practice.
What happens next
- After you send the form you see: “Thank you. Someone from the team in your region will reply soon.” (In the United Kingdom it says “the United Kingdom” in place of “your region”.)
- A member of the team in your region replies to you personally, by email or phone, the way you chose to be reached. Your details are used only to reply to you. They are kept in the DJJS address book with no newsletter and no postal mail switched on for you.
- Talk to someone does not make an account for you, and nothing is bought. There is no fee and no pressure.
- Further down the page you will also find your first visit described in four short steps, the words you may hear at a gathering, and the weekly online gatherings.
If something looks different
- “Join the mailing list”, “Send me the link” and “Request a conversation about Brahm Gyan” open a separate form called Join the sangat. It asks for your name, WhatsApp number, email, mailing address and language, and emails you a welcome with an invitation to activate a Sangat Portal account. When it is done it offers Enter Sangat Portal. It is a different step from Talk to someone, and the two opt-in boxes at its foot, Mail me program invitations at this address and Email me the DJJS newsletter, are yours to tick.
- The form says it needs JavaScript. Without it the form cannot send. Use the contact page instead.
- You chose “Other” for your country. The message still reaches a team. You may add your country in the optional box.
