HelpSigning in and keeping your account safe

Create your account and sign in

Who this is for: Guests

Guests who want a Sangat Portal account, and members who have one and want to sign in. The account is free.

Before you start

  • Have your email address, your mobile or WhatsApp number and your mailing address ready. The form asks for all of them.
  • Choose a password of at least 12 characters (no more than 128). A phrase of a few words is a good choice. Numbers and symbols are not required. It cannot be one of the passwords people choose most often, or your email address.
  • Read the privacy notice, which the form links to. You must agree to it to continue.

Steps to create your account

  1. Go to djjs.us/register, or choose the Create account tab on the sign-in page. The page is headed Join the sangat.
  2. Fill in First name, Last name, Gender (for your JMJK greeting) and Email. The email is never shown to other members.
  3. Under Mailing address, fill in Mobile / WhatsApp number (start with + and the country code), Street address, Address line 2 (optional), City, State / Province, Postal / ZIP code, Country and Preferred language. The state is required for the United States, Canada, Australia and India.
  4. Type a Password. Under the box you see “At least 12 characters. A phrase of a few words is a good choice.”, then “Needs at least 12 characters.” while it is too short, and “Strong enough.” once it is long enough.
  5. Look at Your time zone, then choose any of the three optional boxes: Send me Akhand Gyan and invitations by post, Email me program news and Show my first name and city on the Akhand Sadhna grid. None is ticked for you.
  6. Tick the box that begins “I’ve read the privacy notice”, then choose Create account. The button stays dimmed until that box is ticked and the password is long enough.

What happens next

  • You are signed in at once and taken to the Sangat Portal. You see “Welcome to the sangat.”
  • Your account starts in your region’s time zone. If your browser reports a different one, a small card in the portal offers to switch to it for your first 14 days.
  • A message with the subject “Confirm your email address | Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan” is sent to you. Open it and choose Confirm my email address within 72 hours. Nothing else changes, but some things, such as a staff invitation sent to that address, wait until it is confirmed.
  • Only your first name and city are ever shown to other members. If you leave the grid box unticked, your hours still count but appear as “A sangat member”. You can change this later.
  • If you came through a co-sadhak’s invitation link in the last 30 days, your account is linked to it. That member sees only a count, never who joined.

To sign in later

  1. Go to djjs.us/login. On the Sign in tab, type your Email and Password.
  2. Leave Keep me signed in on this device ticked on your own device. Untick it on a shared one.
  3. Choose Sign in.

Where your browser supports it, Sign in with a passkey is also shown under the form. See the guide on passkeys below.

If something looks different

  • “An account with this email already exists. Sign in instead.” Use Sign in. If you cannot remember the password, choose Forgot password?.
  • “Your password needs …”. The site turns away a password that is too short, too long, very common, or the same as your email address, and says which. Choose another.
  • “This email already has a Sangat account waiting to be activated.” An account was started for you at a center. A fresh activation link is emailed to you: open it to choose your password.
  • “Email or password is incorrect.” Check both and try again.
  • “Too many attempts. Try again in … minutes.” After several wrong tries in a row, sign-in pauses for a while. The page names the wait. The number of tries and the length of the wait are set for the whole site.
  • “This account hasn’t been activated yet.” The account was made for you at a center or by a coordinator. Use the activation link in your invitation email, or choose Forgot password? for a new one.
  • “This account is suspended.” Contact an organiser.
  • A second step after your password. Normally none: a second step is optional. Staff are asked for a passkey, or a code by email, only while a Super Admin has switched on Require two-step for staff. See the related guides.
