HelpSigning in and keeping your account safe
Sign in with a passkey
Who this is for: Guests and members
Guests who already have a passkey on their account, and members who have added one. It helps you sign in faster, without typing an email or a password. A passkey is optional: your password always works. To add a passkey first, sign in and see Set up a passkey.
Before you start
- You have already added a passkey to your account on this phone or computer, or on one that shares it with this device.
- Your browser can make passkeys: a recent Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
- Use djjs.us or www.djjs.us. A passkey only works on the DJJS website’s own address, and a branch’s own site keeps its own passkeys.
Steps
- Go to djjs.us/login.
- Under the sign-in form, below the word “or”, choose Sign in with a passkey.
- When your device asks, confirm with your face, fingerprint or screen-lock PIN. If it offers a choice of passkeys, choose the one for DJJS.
What happens next
- You are signed in and taken to the Sangat Portal, or to the page you were heading for.
- The passkey checked your face, fingerprint or PIN, so you are not asked for anything more.
- If you sign in with your password instead, you are not asked for your passkey. The one exception is staff, when a Super Admin has switched on Require two-step for staff: staff are then asked for their passkey after the password. See Set up two-step sign-in.
- You type nothing, and a passkey only works on the real DJJS address. Your password still works whenever you prefer it.
If something looks different
- There is no Sign in with a passkey button. Your browser or device cannot make passkeys. Sign in with your email and password.
- “Nothing was changed. You can try again whenever you like.” You closed or cancelled the question your device asked. Choose the button again.
- “That passkey wasn’t recognised. Try again, or sign in with your password.” The passkey is not on this account, was removed, or belongs to another site. Use your password.
- “Your device didn’t confirm it was you (face, finger or screen-lock PIN). Please try again.” Try again with your screen lock turned on.
- “Too many tries. Please wait 15 minutes.” Wait, then try again, or use your password.
- Passkeys only work on the DJJS website’s own address. You are on a different address. Go to djjs.us.
- You lost the phone with your passkey. Sign in with your password, or reset it, and add a passkey on the new device. Staff asked for a passkey at sign-in choose Email me a code on the Two-step sign-in page first.
