Practise Rudri Path in the practice room

Who this is for: Guests and members

The Rudri Path practice room holds the Shukla Yajurvediya Rudrashtadhyayi, chapter by chapter, so you can practise any day of the week. The whole room is open to everyone. Only a member's practice is logged.

Before you start

  • The room opens at Rudri Path. No account is needed.
  • Headphones help if others are near. Press play only when you are ready to recite.
  • If the recording has not been added to the site, the page says so and you read along mantra by mantra.

Steps

  1. Open Rudri Path. The recording credit under the heading names the Vedic Scholars of Divya Jyoti Ved Mandir (DJVM) who chant it.
  2. Choose a chapter in the Adhyaya Navigator. On a phone, choose Chapters to open it. To look for a line, type in Find a mantra.
  3. Press the play button. The text of the chapter is shown in Devanagari and in IAST, a Latin transliteration. Words light up only where their timing is known.
  4. Adjust the room to suit you. Choose Both, देवनागरी or IAST for the script, and A− or A+ for the text size. Use −0.05x and +0.05x or the quick speeds 0.5x Slow Study, 0.75x Guided, 1.0x Authentic and 1.25x Review. The pitch is kept when the recording is slowed or quickened. Loop Mantra repeats one mantra. Skip Hindi Intro jumps past the spoken introduction. On a phone, these controls are behind the gear button.
  5. Members: tick each chapter as you practise it. A chapter is also ticked for you once most of it has played.
  6. Members: choose Log to Sadhna to add your practice to your record. It stays dimmed until at least one minute of the recording has played.

What happens next

  • For a member, the minutes the recording really played are logged as Rudripath practice in your Sangat Portal record, together with the adhyayas you ticked. Minutes not yet logged are also saved when you leave the room. Adhyayas 1 to 8 go into the log. Ticking all eight counts one recitation for the day. If you recite again, add it with One recitation on your Rudripath page.
  • For a guest, nothing you play is logged. While the recording plays you are counted among those practising now, as "A Vedpathi seeker". A bar at the top says Practicing as a Guest and offers Register Free, Sign In and Dismiss.
  • Who can see it. The pill at the top shows how many are practising now. Its list shows only the first name and city of members who share them on the sangat's rosters. Everyone else is a Vedpathi seeker. Only the chapter is shown, never where anyone is in it.
  • This is practice, not a meditation hour. It does not add to your Akhand Sadhna hours, which are counted separately by the sadhna timer. See Verified hours and quiet milestones.
  • Aura. The button Divine 3D Aura switches the glowing background on or off.
  • The next group recitation. When the sangat's next gathering is known, the page names its day and time in your own time zone.

If something looks different

  • No recording plays. The page says the recording is not on the site yet. Read along with the text of each chapter.
  • A chapter shows no text. The page says either that this part has no on-screen text, or that its text is being prepared by the liturgy team. Listen with the recording. Words light up only where their timing is known, and the page notes where that timing is approximate.
  • Log to Sadhna is dimmed. Less than one minute of the recording has played. It lights up once a minute has passed.
  • You see no Log to Sadhna button. You are signed out. Sign in or create a free Sangat account to keep your practice in your record.
  • The pill shows "Practise along with the sangat". Nobody is practising at this moment.
